Sunday Bible Study Notes

Beginning tomorrow, I thought it would be a good thing to post my class notes for Sunday Bible Study. I will continue to do so for the forseeable future, excepting Christmas Day.  These class notes are handed out to those attending my Bible class here locally and contain material that is supplemental to my remarks and class discussions.

It is my hope that you might find them useful to individual study if you are so inclined.  I must however put in a note of disclaimer here:  I have done my level best to accurately reflect the meaning of the Bible passage under discussion in each of these, based upon over 20 years of teaching both in churches and Seminaries.  I am quite aware that many people read this blog from diverse Christian backgrounds, and it is quite possible that there may be an occasion in which my interpretational approach may differ from theirs.  Please don not be put off by this.  I do not claim to have sole wisdom in these matters, nor do I wish to make this blog a forum for doctrinal arguments, but rather a place where all Christians can be encouraged and blessed.  Please take from these lessons the material which is useful, encouraging and inspiriting.

Let’s be honest; most doctrinal differences we debate over are not all that terribly important.  My prayer is that we can all pull together even with some differing opinions, to advance the cause of Christ in a troubled and dangerous world to God’s glory, not our own.

A Moment to Reflect

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(Romans 8:38-39)

Take a minute… think about these verses.  Whatever you may be up against today, or any day, whatever is causing you pain or problems; what is this difficulty compared to the love that God has for you? Nothing!

It really helps to wash out our minds with God’s love from time to time.  Keep these verses in mind; in fact why not just memorize them?  Nothing can separate you from the love of God in Jesus Christ!  Grab on to that fact, and never let it go.
