Autumn Rain

It looks like rain today; the view out the window is dreary.

It’s easy to be a little down on a dreary rainy day.

To be entirely fair, rainy days have their own kind of beauty, but you have to go looking for it…

Of course, the problem with going out to look for it is that you get wet; and cold…

If you are persistent, and you are willing to get wet, you will be rewarded.

Once you start to see that rainy days have their own kind of beauty, you can let yourself think about what rain is; it’s a source of life.  Where would we be without it?

Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. (James 5:18)

Without rain we would be in a world of hurt, but God is faithful and causes it to fall so that we and all living things might live.  Why would I find a rainy day depressing or gloomy?

Rainy days are really a cause of hope and joy… and proof of God’s love for us.

Thank you Lord for bringing the rain… and for the beauty and hope that it brings with it!
