“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.”
(Matthew 5:6)
What do you hunger for: righteousness or evil?
To hunger and thirst for righteousness means to fill one’s mind, time and life with things that are good, wholesome and pure. The alternative would be to seek after things which are none of the above; sin, evil and corruption.
I’ve known people who always sought after ways to gratify themselves, by drugs, or by booze, or by sex or money. Do you know anybody like that? Are they ever satisfied, or are they always looking for the next score? Would you classify such people as happy?
There’s only one way to be filled, and that is to seek God’s righteousness; for real. This doesn’t mean to pretend to be righteous, but rather to earnestly seek it. Will you see results?
The answer to that question is that you may or may not see results, but everyone else will!
Trying like crazy this 2012 to get closer to God than ever! :-))!
Me too!
I think the operative word is “crazy”. We need to forget about convention and what other people think and just seek to live for God!
