Another work day; great.
Another day to praise our God; much better!
It’s easy to get caught up in the here and now; the daily grind; the hum-drum. But it isn’t mandatory!
How we choose to approach life is a choice that we all make, and sometimes we don’t choose wisely. If we dread our days at work, if we hate what we do, if we just can’t see anything good in the day… well it doesn’t seem like we’ve chosen very wisely. Consider:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
A better choice every day is to set our eyes on the things above, on the things of God; on heavenly things. You won’t get bogged down in junk, pain or misery there, you won’t hate what you’re doing there…
There’s another thing about setting our eyes on the things above we should all consider; it will help us realize which big and important things in our daily lives aren’t really big and important at all.
