  1. brother,
the question that follows for the good dr. sproul is “why is there even one way, but for only ‘Some’ pre-selected people?”

Calvinists make it seem like “Grace because of God’s Love”, but the truth is they don’t really believe that. It’s… “Saving Love ONLY for the Elect, because of ‘Grace’ shown ONLY to the Elect, due ONLY to the unaffected pre-selection by a Pre-destinating God who has not only chosen to save ONLY the Elect, but also by that limited preselection ‘Chosen’ not to save the rest.

that’s a more ‘honest’ appraisal of the Calvinism of RC Sproul.

    • Don Merritt says:

      Hey Mike!

It’s been a long time since I was a Seminary instructor and even longer since I was in post-grad school, so maybe I’m just out of practice with these things… but I’m not quite sure that I follow. Without regard for a person’s view on Selection and Predestination (which I personally reject) it seems to me that what Sproul has uttered in the quote is a “Wow” moment.

Consider how amazing it is that God has provided a way for us to be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, after we have rejected God and entered into rebellion against him! Consider how marvelous it is that God has so loved us that He would forgive us of our sins and foibles of which we all have so great a number!

As for the rest, Calvinists have their various points of view as they may see fit, but I will still be sitting in wonder and awe at what God has done for us and leave the debate to more sophisticated men.
