Come and See!

Come and see what God has done,
    his awesome deeds for mankind!

Psalm 66:5

God has done amazing for all of us and we should all be glad.  He has created an amazing world for us to explore, He has blessed us in so many ways, and He has gone out of His way to reclaim us to Himself.  We can see His work all around, we can be filled with His blessings and even enter into His presence, why would we ever despair?929 082-LR

Even with all of this fantastic news, even with so many blessings, many of us are not glad this morning.

What is God saying to us in this?

What will we do about it today?

Maybe a good idea would be to make sure that we drink in His goodness by just taking stock for a moment of all that we have to be thankful for, then to give Him the praise and thanks that we should.  I’m quite sure that if we take a deep drink in this way, we will have a great deal of joy to share with those around us.  Our coworkers today might need our light.  Our friends might need some encouragement, or our family members might need a smile of love and support.  But then those are the easy ones to bring some joy to; anybody can do that.

Maybe today is the day that God’s people make an effort to bring a little bit of joy and hope to those whom we don’t know… maybe even to those who are just a little bit scary to us, those out on the margins one might say.  How much of our joy can we share with them?  You know, anybody can bring a person down with negativity, but it takes a very special person to build others up.  Jesus built people up.  If we are imitators of Christ shouldn’t we do this too?  If we are disciples who do what the Master does, then we will summon up our courage and share our joy with strangers.  It doesn’t need to include a dramatic speech; just a smile and a good morning is a start.

And, oh by the way, when we do this a few times our joy will be even more overflowing!

Its interesting that inin the newSpirit hea en and new earth there will be no more need for a sun, moon or stars for Jesus will be our source of continuous light. He, on earth, was over all creation and He has given us His authority on earth. Instead of being weather vanes pointing the firection the wind is blowingwe ought to be thermostats adjusting the emotional atmosphere to reflect God’s Kingdom joy and peace. All it takes is raising the confidence quotient in God. He is only God. All sufficient. All knowing. There is no one to withstand Him. He is THE MIGHTY WARRIOR, the GOOD SHEPHERD, my FAITHCFUL HIGH PRIEST

    Brother Don,
Very true and encouraging words, thank you for not only uplifting Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, but uplifting Others Through Him, Amen!! We ALL need encouragement at times, and I Thank God for those He uses to do this, for it is indeed important work. Nothing should ever be considered ‘small’ when done in love through Christ, and we would All do well to remember that.
JanJoy52, Thank you for such an amazingly beautiful description of the future that we Will experience, such joy and encouragement in your words as well, sister.
Blessings and Peace In Christ, May He lift us all up this day, through His Holy Spirit, His Word, and through others!
