Our Strength

Apples 013-LR

“Surely God is my help;
       the Lord is the one who sustains me.

 Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
       in your faithfulness destroy them”

(Psalm 54:4-5)

How easy it is to think that we can handle everything that comes our way… and what folly!

David wrote this in a time of severe trial when his enemies were closing in.  While all of this was going on, he was looking to God for his strength, as we should.  Let’s face it, we may not be running from assassins or murderers, but we may often feel like we are… that’s when we need to remember who sustains us: God.  We need to get over thinking about how great and strong we think we are, and humble ourselves before God, allowing Him to lead us through life.  If we do, we will be sustained through good times and bad, and we’ll most likely have fewer worries and fewer trials.

    Vengeance is mine saith the Lord Ro 12 :19. How much time do we waste on plotting and scheming to get back at those that act deceitfully with us. Those that seek after and follow the thief of Jn 10:10 will have their rewards, but their eternal blessings that they lose because they did not do what needed to be done to earn them in the first place will have meaning to them at the great white throne. There really is too much that we need to be paying attention to, that we should not have the time to try to do what God says is his job. God will help us if we make room for him to work in our lives, but unlike the thief, He waits on our permission, He does not coerce us to do it His way, He wants us to choose to do it that way. Learn the Word so that you know what is truly His way. There are deceivers out there to lead us astray of His Word, so investing the time to find out What the Word says is time well spent. God gave us a gift of power to be more than conquerors, How we manifest holy spirit is our decision, but choosing to manifest it is something that if we aren’t we should be about learning how and when and where and with whom we should be about it. Life is short, we make the most of it when we work together to help one another succeed. Selah.
