Does Anything Last?
Welcome to this week’s podcast! This week, let’s consider what is really permanent in this world, certainly it isn’t cell phones, since I’ve just tossed a perfectly good one into my box of old phones that I no longer use, in spite of the fact that they all work just fine.
Yep, we live in a throw away world, does anything really last>
Garden of Eden springs to mind. What I did not know I did not miss. Now I know I need it. Now!!
The other thing? I am young – I never knew your “when you were young”. How can I want what I never knew? Particularly if that means giving up what I take for granted – my “when I was young” is “it is what it is” now.
God is and always will be – the rest is (and always will be) a distraction. Until we each reach our own time of wanting more than ONLY the stuff I take for granted.
Keep “podding” – love your words coming through the speakers. They always make me think a little differently.
Merely the wistful longings of someone on the wrong side of the hill
There is a thought that’s says the wrong side of the hill is the right side of the hill. That we have to climb to the top and then see what is beyond – and then we can produce a podcast like yours.
Nice spin! Exactly right! …for it is only when we have been in the deepest valley, that we can truly appreciate how magnificent it is to climb the highest mountain…
Great podcast this morning Don! I had to chuckle as you talked about replacing perfectly good phones that work with new phones that work also. lol Things certainly are different and I admit I love using the technology too–at least the part I can figure out! My growing up years however were similar to yours. Moms never had to worry about sending us out to play because lots of Moms were around and kept an eye on everyone’s kids. Have a great day my friend!!
🙂
Very good Don! I like that we need to use the things of this world without depending on them. I also understand the changing of phones because technology requires it, not personal need or breakdown.
