Is it Time Yet?

It’s February 15th: time for the Harvest!

I know that we don’t usually associate February with harvest time… at least in the Northern Hemisphere, but the time has come.  Here’s what Jesus said on this subject:

Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.  Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. (John 4:35-36)

The fields are ripe for Harvest, the fields are also ready for planting;  Either way they’re ready for action!

Many people have had the seeds of faith planted in their lives but have not yet responded to the message; these are the ones who are ready for the Harvest.  Many others have never had the seeds of faith planted; they need to hear about Jesus for the first time.

Now is the time to get out into the fields, to sow and to reap.  Maybe when we go out there and get started we don’t know who is ready for what; but when we invest a little time in people, when we get to know them all will become clear.  The whole key is to get into the fields and get to know the people; to invest a little time and effort, just as Jesus did with the woman at the well.  This little investment resulted in a whole town coming to know God’s gift.  Seems like a wise investment to me!

  1. This is so true!! I heard a pastor once say that our whole life revolves around sowing seeds and reaping harvests. He said everything we do good or bad is sowing a seed in our lives. It is a very powerful message! Great Post!!……Blessings
