On Our Knees

IL714 017-LR

Abraham Lincoln one said that there are times when he found himself falling to his knees before God, for there was no other place for him to go during the darkest days of Civil War.  I think there are times like that for all of us.

We don’t even need to be enduring bad times to respond in this way, in fact there are times to jump for joy to the Lord, and there are times to fall on our knees in thanksgiving as well.

The most important thing, whether we are living in good times or bad, is to remember that we need to be near to God…

Come, let us bow down in worship,
   let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
 for he is our God
   and we are the people of his pasture,
   the flock under his care.

Psalm 95:6-7

God is my joy and my sustenance; my happiness and my comfort.

God is my life and my strength; my creator and my redeemer.

    Pray without ceasing. Lift all things up to God

  2. From Living Water to Worship ~ (John 4 ) ~ this is the key message from Genesis to Revelation. God is calling us to Worship Him and is seeking true worshipers. The dark nights of the soul have always led me to my knees in need but not necessarily in Worship, but it is a beautiful blessing when we are led to our knees in His love. Thank you for this Psalm as a reflection in remembrance. ~ Bow Down ~ Amen :Y

    I have a feeling this happens more than you think… BTW, the past few days I have been battling the flu and I even had to work (barely functioning) because short staffed. Now waiting an hour and a half at a clinic, good times….

    I had an experience once, I remember on the 9th of February this year. It was my dad’s birthday and I just found myself going down on my knees by my bed to thank God that i have such an amazing earthly father

    We just had a sermon this past Lord’s day on the lame man that was carried to the front gate of the Temple every morning (Acts 3), and asks “alms for the poor”, and after Peter and John healed him he went on jumping for Joy and prasiing God.

    How great is our God!
