Photo of the Week: January 13, 2016

Back in 2011 I did a photo essay about the stained glass windows in my house, and the other day i thought I would try a few more shots of those windows. I kind of like this one since the colors came though so vividly…

Did you do those windows yourself, Don? Nice either way, but really, really nice if you also made them.

Absolutely beautiful! Would love to see the whole house if it has gorgeous stained glass like this!

Sadly, during WW2, because of the need for housing in this area caused by the workload at the Rock Island Arsenal, the house was converted to apartments. When it was restored to single family use, they “modernized” the interior to a certain degree. If I could afford it, I would “de-modernize” it and take it back to 1895! If you look through the tab at the top of my page “Photo Essays” I have posted about this house with quite a few photos of the exterior, and have actually done so as recently as this week, if you’d like to browse through and see them. Thanks for you kind comment!
