  1. Worship God with reverence and awe? Would we act before the queen of England the way we do in some of our worship services? When we worship as we do, are we worshipping ourselves and what we want, or God and what he wants? Hmmm.

It’s interesting how the Eastern Orthodox see “consuming fire.” They see it metaphorically, that this “fire” both warms the heart of those who love God with flames of passion, and it burns with torment those who don’t love Him. Sort of like with a real fire, it can both heat a home and burn it down. It’s the same fire for both. His fire in us burns away all that can be shaken. So, in that regard, I LOVE His consuming fire. 🙂
    Anyway, an interesting perspective.
