  1. I also like the contrast of the genealogy in that Matthew focuses on how Jesus is the promised Messiah spoken of throughout Israel’s history beginning with Abraham while Luke shows Jesus is for all mankind by pointing all the way back to Adam.

Even though it is hard for us to wrap our minds around it, if we are in Christ, God says to us as well. “You are My beloved child, with whom I am well pleased.” We know that, in our own merits, we don’t deserve such an affirming statement, yet, in Christ, we ARE beloved of the Father and well-pleasing to Him.
